Nathan Ballingrud writes horror and dark fantasy. Born in Massachusetts, he spent much of his life in the American South and worked as a cook, waiter and bartender before settling in Asheville, North Carolina. His collection North American Lake Monsters won a Shirley Jackson Award. His other books include Wounds, The Strange and Crypt of the Moon Spider.
